【SET075】≪Hyuga Suwabute Go Stones Festival≫Limited Go Set (Snow Grade, Size 32, Kokutan (Ebony) Go Bowls)

【Hyuga Suwabute Go Stones Festival - Limited Go Set】

This super valuable product set includes Hyuga Suwabute Go stones in Snow grade of Size 32 and Kokutan (Ebony) Go bowls.

The Go stones are made from Suwabute clamshells, a unique species of clam in the whole world that can only be collected on Okuragahama Beach in Hyuga City of Miyazaki prefecture. It features an exceptionally refined striped pattern, high quality, and stain resistance.

However, Suwabute clamshells were depleted about 30 years ago. They can no longer be found alongshore in Hyuga, which is why they are also called "The Dreamlike Go Stones."

Go bowls are made of Kokutan (Ebony), a scarce hardwood from Southeast Asia, one of the three most prominent Karaki wood species. Under an embargo on exports of the logs, it is challenging to obtain the material.
