Comment: A set of three panels printed with wood engravings. The motif is based on a narrative of Yoshiie Minamoto, commonly known Hachiman Taro Yoshiie, a military commander in the late Heian period (the 11th - 12th century) cutting a go board with his sword.
Yoshiie jumped across a trench with a stick projecting behind in a cow carrige, and went into a balcony for trysting with a woman (Mikawa Zenshi no Musume).
A servant of the house noticed him and tried to make him stumbled on a go board. Yoshiie jumped over it, drawing his sword, and cut off the edge of the board.
