A gorgeous table Go board with wood grain passing straight through the top surface.  There are slight color variations on the top surface.
The scale is finished with a ridge crafted using genuine lacquer and a traditional Japanese katana by a master Go board craftsman.

Kokutan (Ebony) is a scarce hardwood from Southeast Asia. Under an embargo on exports of the logs, it is challenging to obtain.
This product has been stored for about 10 years after production, so its luster may be slightly inferior to other go bowls.
