 Most of the Clamshell Go Stones on the market today are made from Mexican clamshells that inhabit the Pacific Ocean of the Califonia peninsula. It features a pure white glistening as surface water and the bluish delicate striped patterns. By leveraging the long-established handcraft in Hyuga, the Go stones made from Mexican clamshells also become a symbolic specialty of Hyuga city.
 
Regarding the black Go stones, namely Nachiguro, are made in Kumano city of Mie prefecture.
