Many Kaya Go Boards in Japan were found unused and well-kept as a family heirlooms. Especially the Go boards are with less concern for warping or twisting as their moisture levels are already quite low and can perform outstandingly than the new ones through our craftsmanship.

Other Material Go Board
Professional craftsmen have refurbished the product using boards made of suitable materials such as Hiba, Shin-Kaya, and Katsura Go boards. Because it has been dried for over 20 years, there is no risk of warping or twisting as their moisture levels and discoloration due to mold or the like.
Katsura Wood
桂树
Katura Wood has been used as a material for go boards in Japan for about 150 years because it is highly elastic and an excellent feeling to place the stone. In particular, the best Katura Wood is from the Hidaka Mountains in Hokkaido, but most of the large trees that can be used to produce Go boards have been cut down, so these boards are now rare.
Shin-Kaya

It is a North American tree called SPRUCE or SITKA SPRUCE, called the Shin-Kaya Go board, because it resembles the Kaya(Japanese Torreya) tree and is used for Go boards and Shogi boards. UCHIAJI, the feel and sound of placing a stone firmly on the board is similar to Kaya Go boards.
Hiba Wood

Hiba wood has a fine grain, graceful color, and is highly elastic, making it a beautiful Go board similar to Kaya(Japanese Torreya). Hiba trees are rare because few trees live there, and few large trees can be used to make a Go board. The scent is different from Kaya.
It still has the great feel and sound of placing a stone firmly on the board.
Slightly out of the official standard. Those white stones are still pure white with a unique clam stripe pattern. There are mixed grades of Snow, Moon, and Blossom. Some have very few defects, but they do not affect playability at all. You can enjoy the feel and the taste of the Clam Go stones.
Go-bowls that have been rigorously cared for.
Although famous woods such as zelkova and mulberry are said to be at their most vital 500 years after being cut down, most Go bowls are disposed of after only 30 to 50 years. This product is a repaired product that has been repaired and disinfected in line with our company's SDGs philosophy. Some of them may not be as shiny as new ones, but they are as good as the best wooden go-chests, and since they are completely dried, it will not happen that the lid and bowl will not fit.
