※There is a slight crack on only one of the bowls.

outstanding quality made affordable.

Made from Shima-Kuwa (Premium Island Mulberry), a scarce type of wood produced in Mikura-Jima, a volcanic island in Japan.

The highest quality Go bowls are made of Shimakuwa, a highly popular type of wood with the characteristics of it shining gold under proper lighting but difficult to be found. As a natural breathing material, its texture and color turn finer and deeper over time.

The Go bowl has been refurbished from a prized wooden Go bowl. Some of them may not be as shiny as new ones, but they are as good as the best wooden go-chests, and since they are completely dried, it will not happen that the lid and bowl will not fit.   It is said that precious wood is at its strongest when it is 500 years old after it has been cut down, and the Go Bowls wood that has been cut down for 20 or 30 years is still gaining strength and can be used with confidence.
