Go bowls set is made from Shima-Kuwa (Premium Island Mulberry), a type of wood produced in Mikura-Jima. This island is under the jurisdiction of Tokyo. Since most of the mulberry trees have been depleted, which becomes extremely rare and increasingly valuable.
